God in de Kunst Aan de hand van de Turangalîla-symfonie van Olivier Messiaen wordt de vraag gesteld hoeveel God er in de kunst is en hoeveel kunst er te ontdekken valt in wat wij God plegen te noemen. De Turangalîla-symfonie bouwt voort op Wagners Tristan en Isolde en laat ons onmatigheid, monumentailiteit en intimiteit tegelijkertijd ervaren. Het is een spel (bedoeld als goddelijke actie in het heelal) van scheppen, vernietigen, (re)construeren, leven en dood. God in Art On the basis of the Turangalîla-symphony, composed by Olivier messiaen the question raises its head how many God there is in art and how many art we might discover in what we call God. The Turangalîla-symphony builts on Wagner's Tristan and Isolde and lets us experience excessiveness, monumentality and intimacy all at once. It is a play (understood as a divine action in the universe) of creation, destruction, (re)construction, life and death. | |
