Lezing Lecture		Normatief en Nieuw De notie van 'aspecten zien' is belangrijk voor het verhelderen van de vraag of regelvolgen vooral individueel of juist sociaal is en hoe de uitkomst hiervan van belang is voor vernieuwing. Na voors en tegens te hebben gewogen en de notie van aspecten zien te hebben ingebracht, is de conclusie dat het individuele en het sociale vooral constructen zijn, die door ons zijn bedacht voor praktische doeleinden. We zien echter door die constructen en conventies de meest elementaire banden met de wereld over het hoofd. Wanneer we een artistiek meta-overzicht samen met filosofische reflectie toepassen, krijgt Wittgensteins nadruk op het belang van het 'alledaagse leven', ook in filosofie, een nieuwe betekenis. Normativity and Novelty The notion of aspect seeing is a substantial tool to shed light on the question whether rulefollowing is something necessary individual or social and on how this issue is connected to novelty. Weighing pros and cons and taking the notion of aspect seeing into account, the conclusion is not only that the individual and the social are merely constructs, created by us for practical purposes, but also that we tend to overlook our most basic ties with the world, exactly because of these constructs and conventions. If we adopt an artistic meta-view and make use of the philosopher’s reflection, Wittgenstein's emphasis on the importance of 'everyday life', also in philosophy, takes on a new meaning.
Presentatie Presentation		Een Kunstenaar op Kennispad In vroeger dagen waren filosofie, wetenschap en kunst verenigd, vanwege hun gemeenschappelijke interesse de wereld te willen begrijpen en daarover te reflecteren. Na de Middeleeuwen werden het gescheiden instituties. Is een dergelijke scheiding nog wel van deze tijd? Aan de vraag naar wederzijdse beïnvloeding ligt een artistieke claim ten grondslag: is het niet de eigenlijke taak van kunst en de kunstenaar om alles ter discussie te stellen, conventies open te breken en heilige huisjes omver te werpen? Om iedere keer weer opnieuw de dingen anders te bezien? An artist on the way to Knowledge In former days philosophy, science and art were united because of their mutual interest in trying to understand and reflect upon the world. After the Middle Ages they became separate disciplines. Is this still tenable today? The issue of mutual influences underlies an artistic claim: isn't the true task of art and the artist to bring everything under discussion, to open up conventions and to overthrow fixed convictions? To time and again see things differently?
Performance Performance		De Taal en haar Broekje Deze poëtische en associatieve performance onderzoekt in hoeverre de installatie in de beeldende kunst een gedicht met volume kan worden genoemd met behulp van projecties op allerlei soorten en maten witte onderbroeken die door het publiek vooraf zijn aangeleverd. Arie van den Berg heeft de middag afgesloten met een gedicht. Language and her Tighty-whities In this poetic and associative performance I investigated to what extend an installation in art can be called a poem with proportion with the aid of projections on all sorts of white underwear which were delivered beforehand by the public.
