Lezing Lecture		Het Begin staat niet Vooraan Hoe hangen creatie en imitatie, originaliteit en conformiteit met elkaar samen? Elke vernieuwing heeft onvermijdelijk met het concept Beginnen te maken. Het begin bevindt zich immers op het punt waar het oude voorbij is en het onbekende andere op het punt staat te komen. Het begin van iets anders, vernieuwing, kan echter enkel plaats vinden binnen de structuur van een reeds bestaande (sociale) context. Als creëren steunt op herhaling en imitatie, hoe vindt dan verandering en vernieuwing plaats? Hoeveel ruimte is er tussen de regels? The Beginning is not in Front How do creation and imitation, originality and conformity hang together? Every renewal inevitably has to deal with the concept of Beginning, since the beginning is to be found at the point where the old is gone and the unknown other is still before starting point. The beginning of something else, renewal, can only occur within an already existing (social) context. If all creation rests upon repetition and imitation, how will change and renewal find their way? How many space is there between the rules?
Presentatie Presentation		Is het kleursysteem van Max Lüscher astrologie, tegelwijsheid of wetenschap? Lüscher is een Zwitsers psychiater die in 1949 promoveerde op een door hem ontwikkeld kleursysteem. Het systeem meet de psycho-fysische toestand van een persoon, het vermogen om stress te weerstaan, te handelen en communiceren. Volgens Lüscher is het een holistisch en universeel kleursysteem dat laat zien wie iemand werkelijk is en levert het inzichten voor een zelf-regulerende balans. Is het kleursysteem van Lüscher een wetenschappelijk verantwoord systeem? Wat zegt de aantrekkingskracht van dergelijke systemen over ons? Is Max Lüscher's colour-system astrology, tile-wisdom or science? Lüscher is a Swiss psychiatrist, who obtained his doctorate in 1949 with a thesis on a self-made colour-system. This system measures a person's psychophysical state, one's ability to withstand stress, to perform, and to communicate. According to Lüscher, it is a holistic and universal colour-system which reveals the person as he or she really is and provides insights for a self-regulating balance. Masterclass Masterclass		Filosofie en Kunstenaarspraktijk Deze masterclass is bedoeld voor beeldend kunstenaars met een eigen beroepspraktijk waarin een nadruk op installatieve kunst aanwezig is. Selectie vindt plaats na een persoonlijke kennismaking en toetsing op basis van motivatie. Per masterclass kunnen maximaal vijf kandidaten worden toegelaten. Er wordt een hoeveelheid filosofisch materiaal aangeleverd dat de deelnemers op een eigen manier verbinden met hun praktijk. Iedere kunstenaar afzonderlijk toont en bespreekt het resultaat in een openbare bijeenkomst. Studenten kunnen deel uitmaken van het publiek. Philosophy and Artist's practice This masterclass is meant for visual artists having an art practice with an emphasis on installation art. Selection takes place after personal introductions and on the basis of motivation. For each master class there is a maximum of five candidates. The participants are asked to combine a certain amount of philosophical issues with their artistic practice. Every artist discusses and shows the result in a public meeting.
